Gone

This book is a lot like Lord of the Flies in that it explores what would happen if suddenly children lived in a world with no adults. In the small town of Perdido Beach, California, everyone over the age of 14 mysteriously disappears. Some of the kids begin to develop strange powers that are used for both good and evil. The book's hero, Sam Temple, along with his friends Astrid and Quinn must try to solve the mystery of their new world while fighting the powerful Caine. Things get interesting when the kids learn that as soon as they turn 15, they disappear, into no one knows where. I'd heard this book was really good, and I wasn't disappointed. It created suspense from the very first page which lasted until the end of the book and leaves you wanting more. Which thankfully you can get...in the forms of the two sequels in the series, Hunger, and Lies. Can't wait to read them.

Pretty Little Liars

This show is completely addicting. I haven't read the series but I saw the show advertised and thought it looked interesting, and after the first episode, I was hooked! Each episode is filled with mystery, intrigue, and suspense. One year after their friends mysterious disappearance, four girls start to recieve mysterious messages from a person named A, who threatens to reveal secrets about themselves they thought no one knew. The plot is complicated and keeps you guessing. I've heard several interesting theories about how the show will end, and I've come up with a few myself. If only Tuesday came sooner...

Rating...a definite 10
